ROCK CLIMBING FOR PARKINSON’S
Rock climbing is a low-impact, cardiovascular activity that works nearly every muscle while requiring intense focus which can stimulate neuroplasticity in the motor cortex. Rock climbing can be highly beneficial for people with Parkinson’s. It helps to improve balance, mobility, and strength as well as cognitive processing. Research shows that climbing challenges multiple motor and sensory systems and often leads to measurable reductions in stiffness, tremors, and forward stooped posture.
